Hey there guys, I have an iPad Mini(first gen) and I'm thinking of jailbreaking it. Before I do, I want to ask if it's legal in Australia?

I never dabble in iphones, but here's a quick read

Check out the build: Used to be Obot, now Lilith

Shameless: Me

Jailbreaking is legal.

Obtaining free apps with it is not.

For me jailbreaking made my ipad soooo much more usable.

I can't believe you have to go through settings to enable WiFi... so ridiculous.

If down the track, your device sort of becomes broken, and you have to return it, reset it back to normal. (they'll never know)

Jailbreaking it to me was so worth it. In fact the very reason I switched to android was because I just couldn't be arsed losing the tweaks I had everytime an update came out and I was stuck stay on an old version with infinifolder, 5 icon dock, power toggles, Some of the anti theft and location based tweaks I had too. I think iOS 7 implemeneted a few of them but then I hated the theme too.

iPhones to me always seem so limited without a jailbreak :(

To me most of the stuff I either I did not need or did not care about. Security stuff is a decent thing but personally I think you can't secure a phone. I even leave mine unprotected because if someone steals it they will just wipe it and my influence is gone anyway so I might as well not inconvenience myself by having one.

However the single feature I did like was how you can do the thing where you could allocate memory and access useful stuff without closing out of an app.

From the guy that has been Jailbreaking since iOS 3 or 4.

You can jailbreak and still have your warranty. :D

All you have to do is to restore the iPad to stock when you screw something up. One of the nice things about iOS is that it has a lot of redundancies on the user level of Jailbreaking and you cant brick your phone/tablet.

I'm not an advocate piracy and please don't use jail-breaking to get free apps...  The Jailbreak Community is a great community and it allows for alot of coll things and functionality

Pretty sure jailbreaking is legal in Australia, but as mentioned several times before, don't jailbreak it for the purposes of downloading apps illegally. Jailbreaking is a good option if you're stuck with iOS.  :P
