Hey I am switching from a desktop to a gaming laptop for personal reasons. I saw on newegg a gs65 openbox for $1,500 which is in my budget but the new one isn't. Should I risk the open box? I want something thin with 120hz or so. Cheers!

Edit: I was looking at the helios 300 because of the screen and the msi p65. But only has 60hz and I'm going from 144hz to 60hz. Which I'd rather not do.

Open box just means it was returned, likely because the previous customer wasn't satisfied with it. I'm pretty sure NewEgg made sure it works before putting it back in stock.

So any risk is the same as getting it brand new.

I've bought a few things from NewEgg as an open box, never had an issue, but that's only my experience. I think open box purchases have different return policies as well, so make sure you check that out first.

Desktop: i9 11900k, 32GB DDR4, 4060 Ti 8GB 🙂
