Hi, all,

In an earlier post, I detailed what was going to be my first gaming build. That parts list is partially out of date now, but that's irrelevant.

Anyway, I have a question about my choice of GPU. I currently have Gigabyte's overclocked GTX 780 Ti picked out for my build, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any 2 or 3 way SLI configurations of different Nvidia cards that would give me better performance than the 780 Ti for the same or slightly less money?

The general rule is to always go with one faster card instead of multiple "slower" cards.

You obviously would also need a powerfull PSU for multiple cards.

A GTX 760 SLI is as fast as a GTX 780 Ti in most cases, but consider the additional power draw, problems with SLI, and not complete driver support, and you'll figure out the 780 Ti is more worth it.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

the mars 760 if you like the look of it. only reason you might consider it. other than that stick to one card. the hardware sli on the same pcb is a little better than a bridge but the same issues occur. i would stick to the 780ti if you can afford it.

That seems like a reasonable rule.

I do have an 860 watt power supply picked out fo my build anyway.

why would you want to go sli?

I was just thinking I could save money by combining the power of two lower-end cards and hopefully getting the same performance as the 780 Ti.

not really sure if u want amd but their 280x in crossfire have perfect 2x scaling. on nvidias side I would do sli'd 760s

I've heard good things about AMD cards, but I've also heard that pairing them with Intel CPUs can be a little dicy, and I got an awesome discount on an i7-4770k, so...yeah.

Source?

to both of you this was used with an intel cpu and there are a ton of benchmarks with these cards in crossfire but here are two reputable sources
