I just installed the card and I have only played Insurgency sandstorm, and subnautica. My old gtx 760 though on lower settings still managed more consistent frames.

You may be going too high in FPS and the CPU is capping out, tries limiting your FPS with Vsync or using MSI afterburner?

I do have afterburner installed I'll look into limiting fps that way,  what other things could be causing it?

Nothing else, it is consistent with my theory because the 760 is a much slower GPU which keeps frame times in a steady state even if FPS is lower, because FPS fluctuates so high you will hit hard limits of the CPU and game engine faster bringing you stutter and inconsistent frame times.

I'm playing bad company 2 rn and I'm getting like 160 fps on high settings amd is running perfectly smooth. Could it just be the games?

Not all games use the CPU the same way and BFBC2 is an older game in comparison to what specification is needed to push another modern game optimally.

BFBC2 also scales brilliantly on 4 cores.

As a final question, do you have any kind of money to put forwards for an improvement in PC specifications?

The method i have given you will help you, but games will increase in system specification minimums in order to play them.

Yea I do just didnt realize how expensive all this is

It is entirely up to you if you want to stick to my method or upgrade your entire platform, the upgrade i will present to you will last for a long time and not cost the Earth, but it may be substantial depending on your budget.

What should I get then?

You can reuse your power supply, case & HDD's, you have DDR3 memory so you will need DDR4 memory of which i have listed for you, this is based on USA buying, i assume you are a resident of the USA? If not i can change this to suit your currency.

Before you buy ANYTHING, have you uninstalled and reinstalled the GPU drivers with DDU? Just upgrading the GPU and installing new drivers doesn't necessarily get rid of the old ones. This may help out a lot.

An i7 4770 would be a nice upgrade if it turns out your CPU is bottlenecking the graphics card. They can be found on eBay for a little over $140 or so. Also, pretty sure you have DDR3 in that rig, not DDR4.

Edit: I just looked up used Ryzen prices and they're pretty awesome

https://www.ebay.com/itm/AMD-Ryzen-5-1400-3-2GHz-3-4GHz-Turbo-Quad-Core-Processor-CPU/264231563391?hash=item3d856db07f%3Ag%3AsIsAAOSwejNcg7hG&LH_BIN=1

so yeah if you want to switch to some DDR4 and a cheap B350 motherboard it's not a bad move.

(btw make sure to quote people so they see your responses)

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.
