Its only brand new i was wondering do i have to charge up battery for a minimum of 24hrs for life expectancy of battery, im charging at the moment 2hrs. Its a Acer predator Helios 500 with a 1080 gpu built-in it say i7 8th gen sorry scatch that a GTX 1070, hm wondering running UE4.21?

Congratulations. You don't need to charge up or do anything on a brand new battery. This is not 1999.

 

Most laptops now even have an overcharge protection where you will see in the taskbar if you hover your mouse cursor over the power icon, that it may say 94% (not charging) as in, it will not charge to full and keep charging to prevent the battery be constantly get charged and reduce its lifespan.

 

Just hover over your power icon in the taskbar and make sure that it says NOT CHARGING after it's almost full and you're good to go.

 

Some laptops which don't do this by default have an option toe enable this feature. On Clevo laptops it's called FLEXI Charge. On Alienware laptops it's called Power options: Standard/Performance
