Wii U problems

Go to solution Solved by Stefan Payne,

Disk dying or Optical drive dying.

just to get it out there i wont be able to check for probably the next 8 hrs as i have work and most likely wont check this thread until i get home again

So the problem is that the Wii U the last 4 days has decided that it does not want to run splatoon (his most played game, console also sits horizontally on the TV cabinet), when clicking on the icon to start splatoon, the game brings up the Icon on the handheld screen and starts playing the music but then the console stops spinning the disk, makes a beep and then freezes up while still playing the music (has to turn it off and restart the console from the console itself as powering off the handheld seems to do nothing to the console). I suggested that he change to see if a different disk works, which apparently minecraft and mario kart both work but splatoon still brings up this issue. there is no noticble damage to the splatoon disk (be scatches, bends or really anything).

I'm just looking for ideas what you guys think it may be

thats all i could really think of, i thought more to the disk side as other disks seem to work perfictally through it (especially mario kart which is scratched quite bad but still works) do you agree?

Yeah, it might be more probable as that is the only disc that causes Problems.

Do you see some scratches or other Problems with the Disc??

nothing at all apart from minor damage, it is the best looking of the three disks and the only one that does not work

Hm, you don't happen to have access to a different WiiU, do you?

But getting a new drive anyway, as long as they are available, might not be a bad idea.

they do not have another wii u to test it on. but ill relay that information on to my aunt, i think they were going to take the disk back to the gamestore as they might be able to see what the problem is, try it in another system or just swap it for another disk

thank you for your help
