I built a system for a client using a Ryzen 2400G along with Ballistix Sport LT RAM, a Thermaltake Smart 500W 80+ PSU, an MSI B450I mobo, and a Crucial MX500 M.2 drive. After about a week they started getting random reboots to BIOS and/or windows. The motherboard was giving random error lights, sometimes VGA, sometimes CPU, sometimes memory. My first thought was the motherboard, so I contacted MSI and they agreed that it was probably a bad board. I sent it back to amazon and instead of waiting the client just had me get a new board. I put everything back together tested the system and sent it back home. But the client is having the same problem with the new board. I'm stumped. My next idea is the CPU or RAM.

Any ideas?

When it comes to outright shutting down with no warning, I often think the power supply is suspect.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

You could try to get a hold of another AM4 board and try the CPU there. You could also try RAM in another system. Is there a dedicated GPU installed, or is it running off the iGPU?

iGPU. I built another system for the same clients that's doing fine. Its using a 2600 and a GTX 1060. same board and stuff tho. I could try swapping stuff around but the other build is working fine and i would rather not mess with it

I don't have it in front of me to check. Its with the client

if you have other parts on hand start replacing them until you find the cause.

and try to stress test each part sepratly and than all of them at once and see if one of them crush under load.
