Streaming with AMD iGPU on the 2200G?

Go to solution Solved by BobVonBob,

AMD has VCE to render with its GPUs, but I don't know if that works with their iGPUs.

Hey all!

So since I was going to be "upgrading" to Ryzen I was wondering if you could use the iGPU to stream in OBS and for video acceleration in DaVinci like you can with the iGPU in Intel chips with the QSV codec. Any information would be helpful. In addition.. If it is possible should I get the 2400G or the 2200G?

this chart from wikipedia shows it does support it, I guess?

Looks that way. If OBS supports it you might be able to, but I've also heard bad things about the quality of VCE. It might be worth considering an Nvidia GPU to use NVENC instead. You will lose some frames but it sounds like the stream quality will be much higher.
