Hey everyone! Just a quick thank you - because of everyone who commented on my last post I was finally able to ascend from the console peasant lifestyle! And now I'm looking to ascend once more after my pc completely crapped out on me ?. Some migh say troubleshoot it, but to be honest I just want get a new build! Plus gonna build this one with my Dad as a nice little bonding experience!

I really do appreciate the help you guys give to people like me who have no idea what the hell we are doing or little to no experience building and combining parts!

Right, now into the nitty gritty! I would love your opinion on the build I currently have put together on pc part picker! I'm completely open to rebuilds bht the one thing I would love to have is the 2080ti, for the sake of the PC being future proofed - plus its an absolute unit m8.

I would love to be able to play games and upcoming games at 1920x1080 (dont care too much for 4k) and 60 or more FPS. I also have all the peripherals so no need to include any of those, I'm also in the UK.

My budget for this build is: £2500-£3000.

EDIT: I suck.. I missed the PC Part Picker list:

If you are wanting 1080p gaming at 60FPS then really a 2080ti is wasted potential. Better to go 1080 or 1080ti if you really want that 11GB VRAM.

Another issue with a 2080ti would be which brand to get. Although there are many options across all models, in the UK at least the 2080ti could be a bit limited on stock depending which brand you want (with a good example being scan.co.uk and their MSI 2080Ti cards which have been overdue for stock since December)

With your budget, yes you can go hardcore top end gaming rig. But do you really need to?

Technically with your budget you can skip the 9900k and get the 9900x (about £1,000) or the 9920x (about £1,350). Even putting the rest of the build together you could still have money left over.

Its fantastic to have the bonding experience to build a rig together.

If you went everything up to date spec except the card and aiming for £3000 then that can give you this:

CPU
Intel® Core i9 9900K 8 Core 16 Threads
Motherboard
ASUS® ROG Strix Z390-E

This will what you will be picking up. You will add a different CPU when Zen 2 launches. Update BIOS before slotting it in. This build also includes a monitor.

Edit: and the build above is not a great build (the build above my post, quite a few "meh" part picks)
