1866MHz ram into a board that supports up to 1333MHz

It will run at 1333MHz as that is the highest speed that the board supports. Although if by some chance that board supports memory overclocking (most OEM boards don't) you might be able to get the memory to run at 1866MHz.

1866Mhz is actually a rather common memory speed for DDR3.

So I tried putting the ram into my pc and when i started the computer it made a long beeping sound a few times so i shut it off. Any ideas?
