PC Multiroom

IntenseScot

Hi,

I have been a PC gamer for around a year now. I suffer from severe M.E (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) and I am bed/chair bound. I am supposed to spend mosrt of my time in bed but I refuse to and get myself to my chair where I can be on my PC and have stuff to do instead of sitting starring at walls.  I am looking at building a new PC as I am really looking forward to Cyperpunk and so will be making a good 2K build.

My issue is that due to my condition I cannot keep transporting my system and monitor back and forward between livingroom and bedroom as i would like to have the option to have the same set up in each room without doubling the build and cost.  So something like a wireless monitor or something that doesnt have delay or lag so I can still enjoy games and watch tv/films while i am restricted to my bed without spending too much in extra equipment.

Is this even possible or will I need an anaconda to play HDMI/Displayport cable.

Regards

Intense

Those are awful. The better option would be something like a Steam Link. It's cheap and fairly low latency, although it's not perfect and will usually be better with a controller where you can't feel the small latency as easily.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Desktop:

Intel Core i7-11700K | Noctua NH-D15S chromax.black | ASUS ROG Strix Z590-E Gaming WiFi  | 32 GB G.SKILL TridentZ 3200 MHz | ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 3080 | 1TB Samsung 980 Pro M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD | 2TB WD Blue M.2 SATA SSD | Seasonic Focus GX-850 Fractal Design Meshify C Windows 10 Pro

Laptop:

HP Omen 15 | AMD Ryzen 7 5800H | 16 GB 3200 MHz | Nvidia RTX 3060 | 1 TB WD Black PCIe 3.0 SSD | 512 GB Micron PCIe 3.0 SSD | Windows 11

how about getting one of those carts that linus uses and putting the whole pc on it?

There are KVM switches with a wireless remote.   One set of IO would stay with the computer and the physical KVM switch; the other set of KVM cables would be run through the wall (assuming the rooms are adjacent) and have the wireless switch remote in that room with the other set of IO.  This would not work if there is a large distance between the two rooms.

unfortunately there is a hallway and a bathroom between livingroom and bedroom so running cables is a no go, that was my first thought. MRS put her foot down. So a wireless option is a must but by the sounds of things its not possible without too much latency for certain games...

My only option therefore maybe a gaming laptop... i mean i have two monitors so thought i could make one wireless eaily but oh well. thanks guys. will hopefully get the money together for one after my next build.
