I've just managed to push 1140/1700 out of my 290X, i'm SERIOSULY impressed with the Hynix memory.

What has everyone else managed with their 290X's, including Elpida cards as i'm interested to see the fair few decent Elpida chips out there?

@Bloodkil933 Pretty sure mine is Hynix being an Asus card and all. But the memory for me was the hardest to get stable. Had plenty of head room with the core but the memory wouldn't play ball. Check my sig for the relevant info.

AMD Ryzen 5900x, Nvidia RTX 3080 (MSI Gaming X-trio), ASrock X570 Extreme4, 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB @ 3200mhz CL16, Corsair MP600 1TB, Intel 660P 1TB, Corsair HX1000, Corsair 680x, Corsair H100i Platinum

Cool! Message me when you get some results, interested to see.

I'm certain there are very good Elpida chips out there, it's just a matter of people seeing how far their chips can go, I haven't tried going any higher than 1700 on the memory, unsure if it will go higher, has anyone else got Hynix chips going higher?

Yeah, it just be a complete lottery, i'm sure the people with decent Elpida chips are just hiding :P

Although there probably are some dud overclocking Hynix chips out there, as soon as you fine out let me know, use MemoryInfo 1005 and post the image here.

Thanks!

I got a R9 290 with Elpida memory, and it doesn't go further than 1560. I can get it to 1600, but that artifacts in some games. I appear to be having a pretty good chip (core can go all up to 1220 with +100mV, but again that artifacts in some games (BF4 only actually).

That's quite high, i can only get my core to about 1140 on +115mV, but that's probably just a thermal issue

How did you get +115mV btw? I don't seem to get higher than 100 due to MSI afterburner.

@Gunjob which brands card is that?

I flashed my card to the ASUS PT1 bios and used GPU Tweak

Got a 1250Mhz GPU clock out of this  :D

Needed 1400mV though.

And it artifacts a little bit time to time, I think I will leave it at 1240.
