Audio problems

So... my friend got a new PC half a year ago.

I built it for him and everything was working fine.

about a month since I built it the mic his mic stopped working. after a screenshare we figured that the pc wasn't even seeing the mic as a mic. when he plugged a mic it would detect a device and proceed to not show it when he picked "mic in". he tried many mics, all of them were working when plugged into his phone, but they are not seen in 'devices' when plugged into his pc. he tried the mb ports, the front ports, even the monitor pass-through but nothing works.

we are currently working on it.we re-installed the realtek drivers and now his pc doesnt even see the headphones.

Ok. It seems to be something with the drivers then. Did you reinstall the mainboard driver too?

Check in BIOS if the device is shown there.

Maybe the port is not activated for it? Do other microphones work in the same ports?
