Upgrading from gtx 970

Hi I currently plan to upgrade my GTX 970. I'm considering 1070ti, and 1080ti. I have a monitor that is 1080p 144hz. I know some people say 1080ti is too much. but having max settings at a constant 144hz is not too much for me. but I want to know which is best for me price wise and also performance wise. I have 16gb DD3 ram 1600MHz

Also, i'm planning on buying a used gpu because I can't afford a brand new one.

Most 10 series cards are out of stock unless you get them used, so you should stick to the 20 series(ie 2060 and 2080 to replace 1070ti and 1080ti respectively)

 

What games do you play? Most games can run 1080p ultra at 144hz with a 2060/2070.

GTX 1660 Ti offers the performance between a GTX 1070 and a 1070 Ti but it's newer and consumes less power.

RTX 2060 offers performance in the GTX 1070 Ti to GTX 1080 range.

Those cards are the best choices for ~ $280 and ~ $350, no need to go with older gen cards.

 

Edit: The RTX 2070 performs about 15% better than an RTX 2060 but costs roughly 30% more, so it should be skipped if you're looking at 1080Ti lvl performance - in that case, the RTX 2080 is the option. But, judging from the rest of your PC it would bottleneck above RTX 2060.
