Below is a pic of my pc but lately noticed by gpu hitting close to 80c playing anthem. Any coolers or fans I can place in here? Is there one I can place on the rear?

top fans and rear fans are exhaust. 4 fans as intake in the front.

80 is fine

One thing you can do to lower temperatures is not use the vertical mount

Don’t want to do that as I really like the aesthetics amd looks so cool. Would getting better fans as the intake fans help?

Ahh okay thanks bud. Guess I will just increase the fan speed a little when gaming

Judging by the picture with PC turned off, they are not. I can almost bet that case gets full of hot air with a setup like that, and you have 5 intake fans all together from what i can see,and also, if ypu flip top fans to exhaust, make sure not to have any dust filters on top.

The top 2 fans look like the are mounted for intake. The front "4" is just putting hot air in the system going through the rad. Ideally you want top and rear exhaust front intake. At least with that set up.

Ahh you are 100% right! Good eye! when I took that picture that was how it was set up (top fans as intake). At that point, I had switched from a blower style gpu to the 2 fan type I have now and didn’t feel like switching the fans. I switched the fans to exhaust the other day and used the older picture.

THANK YOU for that tip about dust filters. I did have one on but you are right. Not needed for exhaust.

Did u try with card mounted normally? Same temps?

I did not. I previously had a case with no window so got this case specifically for rgb / vertical mount. Would rather crank up the fans than try horizontal. I did want to water cool with kraken g12 but then can’t vert mount it so that’s a no go.

Yeah, i can understand that. I mean, 80 is still ok-ish,it will downclock a bit at that temp.

Personally im not comfortable seing that temp, idk, ocd or something i guess. U can try applying some fresh, better thermal paste if  u want to open up your card, even tho it has warranty since EVGA is pretty cool about that stuff.

Honestly, it's not that hard.  You could always do soft tubing if the bending scares you.  It'll cost you 150-300+ bucks to do it "right" with soft tubing, but you'd end up with a much more customized (and cooler) setup.

Your gpu will run cooler if you remove that piece of glass that's keeping it from getting air

many places they can't void warranties anymore for disassembling the card unless there's signs that the damage came from that

Yep, it was down clocking from 2000 to 1850 at that temp. Had to raise fans to 80% to get it to 75 but then had noise. I think thermal paste is fine it’s just due to vert mount / limited air getting there. I was pondering putting a grill fan for the back but not sure that would do anything.

@zombienerd Would it be worth doing a custom loop just for the GPU with a 120mm rad, ot just rig up some AIO to it? Pricing wise, ofc. Card is a 1070 Ti Armor.

It’s not the money it’s just I don’t have the time to learn about all the things I need to buy / how to use them. It’s def on the agenda for the next entire rebuild. This one looks miles better than my old pc and I’m pretty proud of how it came out lol.

Yeah, but still, it doesnt look that close to the window, at least not in the pictures.

No worries bud. I can’t speak for custom but a kraken G12 will allow you to use a cpu water cooler on your gpu.would it be worth it? Honestly don’t think so. That gpu shouldn’t be getting that hot. What temps you seeing? If below 72 you are fine.

Thats was my first thought, but then again, if pricing is similar or a bit higher for a custom loop i would rather do that, and then just add my CPU later when my damn motherboard arrives ?

Its MUCH cheaper and easier lol. $28 and even a 120mm AIO is more then enough for a gpu

Yeah, that might be a better solution since i already have a 240mm for the CPU, after that i could just wrap the tubes up in something to make it look nice and call it a day :)
