I'm getting in on the bottom level on the threadripper platform (1900x) but will need to upgrade in the future. I've seen issues listed about firmware problems where the available space for the firmware was insufficient for the updated firmware needed for the 2nd (3rd?) gen threadripper. I do have a workload that will eventually benefit from more and more cores (lucky me to be working with something with a close to 100% parallelizable status) but am dedicating resources to other things right now. What are the motherboards with less space for firmware and those with more? I am looking to get one of the higher end boards like ASRock's Fatal1ty x399 Professional Gaming ATX TR4 Motherboard. Will that work with the firmware updates of subsequent generations?

What about the Asus ROG Zenith Extreme Eatx tr4? Will it have firmware update issues?
