Coil whine. Gpu?

Hey guys. So I have my system for about 2 years now. I had an rx 580 armor from msi on witch I had to put a aftermarket cooler because it was to loud and hot. I will sell that one, so I bough an rx580 nitro + 8gb. The thing is both of the cards do coil whine... My psu is a seasonic s12ii 520w bronze. Could it be it? On my old system I had the same gpu(rx580 nitro 4gb) and an rx 570 from msi and both did coil whine too, and at the time I've changed my psu for another one and even trie different ones like the rm750w gold and another one and the problem wasnt solved so I tought it was from the gpu's. Because of that I get used to it when I change my pc since yet with another card the coil whine was still there. Two years later and with a new gpu the problem persists.. I mean, is coil whine a normal thing nowadays? I don't see whats causing it.. I could trie another psu again but I don't know..

I know but today it seems to be on alot of cards... Like in my case 4.. Its not so bad but its annoying.. Maybe I will trie a strix vega 56, if I do I will see if it has coil whine too..If so that would be the fifth one, lol...

Coil whine is indeed luck of the draw. It's also not accepted most of the time as a defect, because it's simply a property of the way power delivery is designed on graphics cards and PSUs.

 

In some cases, coil whine can even come from the board.

My RX580 pulse also has it.

 

Only notice it since I changed system to one with quieter running. Thankfully my case dampens some of it as I don’t have a window. 

 

In the end it’s just a noise so either wear headphones or ignore it, you usually only hear it when your trying to listen to it.

 

I’m not going to any trouble to address it, just hope my next card doesn’t have it.

Try increasing the clocks by a bit or lowering them. Sometimes, just sometimes, it helps a bit.

I've undervolt the card but doesn't seem to help. It's not to bad.. My case also blocks a bit of the noise. I could change the bios switch, that would make it go to a lower clock speed. 

Oh well I will just accept it again.
