I dont want to spend more than 200 bucks on a tablet but want it to last me 3-4 years. I also want it to be 8" or more. So I gathered three choices.

1. Amazon Fire Tab 8"

Good things:

  • Cheap around $50-60
  • From a reputable company like Amazon

What I dont like

  • Old Mediatek processor
  • Only 1.5 Gigs of RAM
  • Android 5

2. Lenovo p8 tab 3 8"

Good things:

  • Snapdragon 625 14nm
  • Around 150-160
  • LTE support
  • 3 Gigs of RAM

What I dont like

  • 10" would be better
  • Has Android 6

3. Lenovo Tab 4 10"

Good things

  • SD 625
  • LTE Support
  • Android 7

What I dont like

  • 2 Gigs of RAM
  • Around $200

I like the third one best but Im skeptical about the RAM situation. I think this will start to give me problems after some months of usage.

Main system (Mini itx 80mm)

i5-7500 | Asrock h110m | Noctua L9i | Realan H80 Case | 8GB 2400 Ram ADATA | M600 SSD | 500 GB Seagate

Other System (Laptop)

i7 3632QM | Toshiba | 8GB Corsair VS RAM | Sandisk SSD PLUS | 500GB Toshiba HDD

I can tell you from my experience with Lenovo tablets that they make quality devices. I've purchased my Lenovo A3500-FL (7", mediatek quad core, 1GB ram, Android 4.4) in the summer of 2014 and it still works like the first day. I'm not gaming on it (at least no modern/heavy games) and it works fine for surfing, youtube, movies, Netflix (but doesn't support the newer app since it requires Android 5+). I'd go with the 2. Lenovo p8 tab 3 8".

Thanks man!! Good Advice!!

Do you think 3 Gigs of Ram is ok for long term?

Android isn't as RAM heavy as manufacturers try to make people think with the 4, 6, even 10 GB phones. Those are all locked in a "my number is bigger than yours" arms race. The only thing it will really effect is loading times when switching between a bunch of apps because you won't be able to keep as many idle apps in RAM.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
