Acoustic Foam?

Go to solution Solved by porina,

This needs a multiple approach to attack each part.

Vibration needs to be addressed at source. Lower frequencies are hard to sound insulate. Is there something you can do to prevent it from created or transmitting in the first place?

If the fans whine, that's more easy for acoustic materials to deal with, but you may find you need more than cheap foam to be effective.

Hi guys. I want to sound proof a room for my servers. But my bedroom is on the other side of the stupidly thin wall. The noise and the vibration causes a small hum to be heard in my bedroom and is extremely annoying when you need to sleep (the sound of ProLiant fans is usually music to my ears). How well can those cheap acoustic panels stop the sound?
