Is it possible to run multiple cpus as one similar to raid 0 (obviously the two are completely different). I need to run a program that only utilizes 1 core, but I want to use a cluster in order to compute it. So this is kinda what I am thinking, even though it is probably not easily done if not impossible. 

cpu1-8 (each have 2 cores) = 2.3 ghz a core with a total of 16 cores

combined = 36.8 ghz or 18.4 ghz

So would it be possible to run a cluster of CPUs so that it is practically running as "1 core" even though it is actually 16...

If you need a program that only utilizes one core, then you need to buy a CPU with the best single threaded performance you can afford(assuming you care about getting it done in a timely manner, otherwise something as low as a Pentium 4 HT would work).

Thats just not how it works. You would essentially need a program which automatically splits process loads among the cores, but I dont know if something like that exists.

Seriously though, there is no way to have multiple cores behaving as one single core.
