NAS - Buffalo LS441DE  w/ (1) 6TB Ironwolf Nas HDD

Windows 10 Pro

Hey, guys so I've been trying to set up this NAS for a week and i've exhausted all my knowledge and options here.  I realize that there is so much i don't know about this that there are problems that i don't even know how to search for a solution.

I recently got a new computer so i can retire my laptop as my main gaming and work pc.  I still need to do work on both of them, quickly while being able to access the files that i need from several different computers, which is why i resorted to getting a NAS.

I Finally got it working on my MSI GE72 Laptop, after several days of not knowing what to do, I found out that enabling SMB1 sometimes helps.  I am able to work directly from the NAS when at home, which is great progress.   My new Computer, which is running Windows 10 pro, and is at home with the NAS also finally begun to recognize the NAS when i enabled SMB1 on there as well.

The issue I'm having is when i try to map the shared folder to a drive on my home computer,  It says:

"The network folder specified is currently mapped using a different user name and password. To connect using a different user name and password, first disconnect any existing mappings to this network share."

So I'm not really sure what to do because there's only 1 user and 1 admin and i tried logging in to both to connect this to the home PC and I get no result.

Thanks for the help.

Matt

What method did you use to map the drive letter?

File explorer > Network > \\IP-of-NAS\root_folder

Right-click > Map network drive...?
