my specs:

i7 8700

16gb ddr4

unfortunately, my monitor (benq 2411z) doesn't seem to have an display port input.. so I have to choose a card that has an dvi output.

I honestly just want to play some newer mp games on 144fps+, is this setup enough for it?

Your monitor has a HDMI port, which would be recommended to use for a 1080p 144hz monitor.

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

Does HDMI support 144hz?

Yes, providing that it is HDMI 1.3 or newer for 1080p, which I'm sure your monitor is. Your monitor will support 144hz over HDMI.

Pick the one that you like aesthetically. Check the clock speed on the card and pick the one with the highest factory oc in your budget. The rx 2060 is more than capable of getting over 144 fps on high-ultra in 1080p

Mainboard:ROG-STRIX-B360-G-GAMING/Cpu:I5 8400 /Gpu: Galax RTX 2070 /Ram: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB DDR4/ Storage:1TB HDD 2 Corsair SSD PSU : Corsair 550W/Cooling: Silverstone Air Cooler/ / Case : Corsair/Keyboard:Razer Chroma TKL/Mouse:Mionix Castor+Steelseries Qck Mass/Headphone:V Moda M100

A friend of mine is telling me that if I choose the "mini" version (that seems to be the one with the biggest clock) that it will have less durability... is this true at all?

Usually mini form factor card have lower clock because they only have a single cooling fan. Durability wise that nonsense. I got a Mini gtx 970 and after 3 years the card still ran fine. Any card can die even if its a high end model. A bunch of rtx 2080 and 2080ti died when they first launch. As long as you get a card from a reputable brand with good warranty you should  be ok.

In this case seems that this specific mini version has a better clock than the galax, I'll probably go with it then. Thanks both of you for the help.

Yeah better factory clock but the trade off is you can't overclock that much but it doesn't really matter anyways with rtx card. I spend 2 hours oc my galax  2070 card and it only give me a 3-5 fps boost in game. I think the mini should work just fine
