Inflating RAM Prices

Why the constant increase in ram prices over time? I was just thinking of finally upgrading to 8gb but realizing its now closer to 90$
And most notably the increase in 1333 ram? isnt it dated and should be decreasing in price?

I would wait for DDR4, then they will try to get rid of their stock as fast as possible.

2. DDR4 won't be mainstream for a while, so there won't be any price cuts on DDR3 until that happens.

There was a plant in China that burnt down.  Apparently that dropped the supply off sharply and caused the prices to go up.

Its crazy to think production is so concentrated and prices have not readjusted over the past few months.
The trend looks like it will continue to increase in price and has yet to flatline.

Because they are a large manufacturer? That is like saying why are a large chunk of the iPhones/iPads made in one building. Because that is how manufacturing works. Do you have any idea how much it cost to build a fabrication facility?

im quessing alot just seems crazy that they can make so much in one building and nope i have no idea about anything

It's always the companies being money hungry...you don't have to buy the RAM...so if you don't like the prices, don't buy them.  They will come down when demand drops off.  Apparently building computers is more important to most people than cheap RAM.

I keep telling you guys we need to band together and swarm   these RAM vendors with pick ax handles and show um we mean business! :angry:  Then the prices will come down.

$1000 for 64GB in quad-channel.Wow.

Glad I paid attention to the market and bought mine when 16 gig 1600 dual channel kits could be had for $70

 

Should have bought a bunch of them, could have made some serious money.
