Try it again. That motherboard will never boot with RAM in slots A2 and B2, they need to be in A1 and B1, at least none of my boards do.

A1-B1 Slots vs A2-B2 doesn't change anything with getting a board to post.

I can't get to the BIOS and I don't know how to do it without booting in bios

IF you have another computer available go to the ASUS website and download the latest bios and put it on a 100% empty flash drive plug it into the USB Port labeled for BIOS FLASHBACK make sure the system is off and hit the BIOS FLASHBACK button on the rear i/o give it 1-2mins to finish and make sure it's 100% done and power up the system

Hey there,

Recently I bought a new motherboard, new cpu, ram and ssd.

I wanted to upgrade my old pc, so now I've got:

Motherboard: ROG MAXIMUS XI Hero

CPU: i9 9900k

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Nepton 240mm

Memory: HyperX Predator RGB 16Gb 2933MHZ (2x8Gb)

PSU: Corsair AX860

GPU: GTX 1080 STRIX

Boot Drive: Samsung 970 é o 500gb (clean)

So I installed the new parts, try to run it and won't recognize the memory, gives me Q Code 55, which is "Memory not installed". The memory lights up too. So I guess the memory is not compatible with this motherboard.

I just wanted know if it's possible to get it working, so I won't have to buy new ram again.

Have you troubleshot at all?

Changed slots? Tried only one dimm?

Yes, the recommended slots are A2* and B2*, tried the other ones and only one dimm, got the same Q code

Reseat the dimms and push to you hear them "click/snap" in the to the slot. The other thing could be your cooler could be mounted to tight causing to much pressure on the socket giving you a memory error.

You've installed the RAM in the wrong slots. Put them in the other 2.

you need another computer, read the manual on bios flashback

put bios on a USB with the correct name (as per manual)

insert into the bios flashback usb port.

(read the manual on how long to press the button)

wait.

I've checked the manual in the mean time and it doesn't explicitly say to use A1 first, still I recommend using that slot first.

Try booting with 1 stick in A1, and then try the other.

CPU is responsible for detecting RAM. It is possible the connection on the cpu is bad and it will not detect the RAM. It might need reseating (take it out completely this time and check for bent pins as well.).

I would think it's highly unlikely the RAM doesn't work at all because it is incompatible, but still possible though. Check the QVL.

update the BIOS and now gives me the Q Code AC which is "Reserved for ASL

Here's a pick of asl status (don't know what that is)

Did it post? Or did it get stuck on AC code?
