I've heard really good things about the Strix cards, they have beefed up power delivery.

In all honesty overclocking GPU's without bios/hardware mods is pretty much dead for now, at least with Pascal/Turing does not allow you to overclock too much, and even then they are pretty small improvements, this is mainly due to locking down the voltage.

This is why there is almost no difference between different models nowadays.

but the big thing at least with 2080 ti's right now, is the a and (non)a chips.

2080ti is objectively the the best consumer card, with the best model probably being the most expensive EVGA one. Alternately there are cards like the Titan RTX which are even better but for insane prices.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X  |  Cooler: Cryorig H7  |  Motherboard: MSI B450 Mortar  |  Case: Fractal Design Meshify C Mini  |  RAM: 32GB DDR4 3000MHz  |  GPU: EVGA 1070ti Gaming (Kraken G12 Watercooled) |  PSU: Corsair TXM650  |  Storage: Samsung 860 EVO 500GB + WD Blue M.2 500GB  |  Network Card: Asus PCE-AC56  |  Monitor: Acer Nitro VG270U  |  Audio: Sennheiser HD6XX + Schiit Fulla 2

Laptop:

Lenovo s540:  CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3500U  |  RAM: 8GB DDR4 2666MHz  |  GPU: AMD Radeon Vega 8  |  Storage: 256GB NVME SSD

I've been trying to find this out for the past few days myself, It's been hard to tell due to nobody testing with the same methodologies. Out of the box, top clocked are the Zotac amp extreme than the Gigabyte Aorus. As for the best OC'er, well it's kinda stuck due to Nvidia locking things down and obviously taking the best-binned chips for themselves (unless this has changed and I'm just unaware). Asus supposedly has one of the best VRMs, but it doesn't matter much unless maybe using LN2, but maybe it'll last longer overall with an OC on it. The KINGPIN card was announced early January, but still, no launch yet.

I’m not liking the look of the kingpin too much

Idc much for OC just want the most powerful one that’ll give me 4k 60 FPS most of the time ... I don’t play competitive or shooters only single player games so I stick to 4k 60

Yeah, same. plus it does have a rad on it, so you'd have to make room for that or just pop out your real case fan.

Well, spec wise, Zotac has the best out of the box numbers. (as far as I've seen)

strix is not K|NGP|N territorry, or Lightning Z, as it lacks many LN2 features, and its vrms are worse than both Lighning Z & K|NGP|N.

Strix is FTW3 ultra gaming and Gaming X trio territory

But what about for casual users who only OC with the included heat sink?

then they shouldn't buy the Lightning Z or the K|NGP|N. and as far as I am aware, the Lightning Z cooler is the same as the Gaming X trio, so a "casual user" would have no reason to get the Lightning Z, unless they want the carbon fiber backplate, as the major selling points: really good vrms, LN2 features, and extra power ports) would have no use.

Ditto with the K|NGP|N, its just a FTW3 hybrid with an extra power plug, LN2 features, and a souped-up vrm.
