Hey guys,

I was thinking about getting VPN. Namelly private VPN access. I would have a few questions tho.

1. Do I need to have their client, or can I just normally do it through dedault Windows VPN conection.

2. Can I connect my router to VPN to have every device connected without setting up each device, and “bypass” the 5 device limit.

thanks for info and secure browsing :D

1. Yes you use their client, it is super easy to use and gives a good graphical indicator if it is connected or not.

2. Yes you can use Open VPN through DDWRT or Tomato. They also sell pre configured routers if you want one to make sure that you get a good connection. If you do use a router the advantage is the router counts as 1 "connection" to the VPN at a time and you only get a max of I think five. This allows more things to connect at once. Remember though that some things will not work when connecting through a VPN (HULU, Netflix, etc.) so take that into account if you go that route.

My point is, I like to keep my Windows clean without any apps. Thats why I want to know if it works properly with default Windows VPN. The same goes with my phone, connect through settings on iOS withou their app.

The point of using the app is the killswitch, it stops any data traffic if the VPN goes down.  I also believe it uses more secure encryption than Windows VPN.
