That doesn't sound abnormally high, sure it's a bit toasty but should be ok. Have you checked your PSU fan see if there's dust clogged in there?

Be careful if you do find some because removing it is going to be a bit of a delicate procedure.

Case setup matters. How's the airflow for your PSU oriented? Does it have it's own air pocket?

Also, human touch isn't a good metric of hot PC components. 140 Fahrenheit is definitely alright.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

my pc glass pannel gets super hot when gaming so i dieced to pop it open and measure my psu temp with a temp gun its ready around 125f to 140f is that normal?

*googles* 50°C-60°C? Yeah, that's pretty hot. Are you pointing the thermal sensor at the exterior of the power supply unit, or are you pointing it inside the fan grill at the internal components?

Is the fan on the PSU spinning?
Can you post a picture of how the PSU is mounted in your case?

That doesn't corrolate to the PSU in your system specs in your profile, and wasn't one recommended in this thread

or this thread

And you've got threads talking about your system having, i5 4440's, i3 8350k's and i5 8400's. WTF?

Do you just burn money for fun?

And now answer the other questions... what case  How is the PSU oriented?

Ya heres some pics its facing up and doesnt have  a huge gap between the gpu fans you think flipping it downwards would help and i checked temp on back part of psu and pointing into the psu fan area

With the GPU that close the PSU is going to be sucking in the hot air the GPU blows out. What model case is that? Does it have ventilation at the bottom to allow for the PSU to be flipped facing down? If it has proper ventilation for the PSU to be mounted the other way, then flip it and see if it improves the situation.

yes it does have a fitler and cut out at the bottom for it while try to flip it when i get time

Funnily enough this is on the thermal take website for that unit...

Screenshot_20190214-043428.thumb.png.ab6d9a29d3f07f619d8e01cac640b1c8.png

Thermaltakes claim that it keeps the system and the PSU cooler by facing the fan up doesn't seem to be holding up too well.

"Face your PSU fan up so you can see the RGB lights" - pretty much what I expect from thermaltake to be honest

The case they tested with didn't have a PSU shroud, and didn't have a GPU right on top of the PSU, though.

I'm guessing it also didn't have any exhaust fans.

True, but really I think the cooling claims made are just a flimsy excuse for having an RGB fan in a PSU that normally wouldn't be visible in the downwards facing orientation.

I haven't looked, but I doubt I'd see the same improved thermal claims on the pages for their non RGB units.

PSU fan has to face the bottom of the case since it's intake, that's why newer cases have a bottom placement instead of a top one

Thermaltake: "bUt teH LeDs aRe RgB!!!!" ..... just pointless, some of their PSUs used to be decent now it's just looks over performance.

Also OP, my case gets hot too but the components are at decent temps, it's inevitable since the case is made of metal which conducts heat, glass is a heat isolant and takes time to heat up since it traps it inside the case, that's why some ovens come with tempered glass on the door that it feels hot if you touch it but at the same time isn't hot enough to irradiate a lot of heat and warm up the whole room where the oven is.

Cases should be the other way around, made of metal with only a small amount of plastics or other isolants so it acts as a big passive heatsink but you know... the fad is glass and plastics now.

ya i saw that when i bought the psu thats why i faced it up but im guessing that since my gpu is super close to it they just fight against each other

I wouldn't say it *has* to face bottom.

Really it depends more on the case, not the PSU. Does the case have ventilation for PSUs intaking air from outside the case (think older cases with top mounted PSUs that sucked in air from the case)? does the case have enough clearance off the ground? Is the case on carpet? Is there enough airflow inside the case? Would the PSU be sucking in air from a graphics card 1cm away?

These sort of factors are going to determine which is the best way of mounting the PSU... Not necessarily the PSU itself. It'ss bullshit for thermaltake to claim the PSU mounted either way would perform 3c cooler than the other, as it's not a design feature of the power supply unit but other external factors (mostly case design and airflow) that will determine which way is best way to mount it.
