You have a well balanced build.   Imo, I would go for a Ryzen 5 2nd gen, and maybe add a 1-2TB Hard Drive for games or other media.  Don't forget your peripherals!  Happy Building and GL

Not to be rude, but I disagree that it is fully balanced. Mainly the fact that he can save money

Get the Ryzen 2600 and faster RAM for your friend.

The 2600 is faster and cheaper.

Ryzen needs fast RAM to perform, so it'll perform better with 3000mhz RAM.

There is literally g.skill aegis 3000mhz RAM for $85 USD, and the 2600 is $20 cheaper than the 1400. Also, get a hard drive.

Just realized that.  I'm an Intel person so I'm not too familiar with Ryzen, and its RAM.  Ryzen depends on RAM a lot.  Thanks for correcting me!

It's not in the build list, I recommend you get 1 SSD for boot, and 1 hard drive for games and other media.
