There's a seller near my area willing to part with an i3-4130/ATI  R290X 4GB system for $100.
The computer has a 500GB hard drive, and 4GBs of RAM. I'm unsure about the PSU.

Is this an worthy investment? I would be buying this PC to resell it.
I've never flipped a computer before, so I'd love to hear other's experiences.

$100? Seems a bit sketchy to me.

If you can, go and look at the PC before making a deal.

If you do manage to get it, I would either A. upgrade the RAM to 8GB and flip it as a "gaming PC, great for fortnite" or B. part it out.

Depends what the parts go for in your area.

If it's legit, go buy it right now.

But the GPU alone is worth more than that, so something's probably not right here.

Quote me to see my reply!

Thanks for everybody's input.
I'm planning to thoroughly test the system when I pick it up, so I'll hopefully catch any problems.
What would be a good resell price for this computer? I'm primarily doing this for experience, with profit as a bonus.

You could easily get $200 for that if you wanted to sell it quick.

I would do it, it looks like a PC they built out of leftover parts, no one in their right mind would pair an r9 290x with 4gb of ram and a 4th gen i3.

He probably just had a leftover PC and then upgraded his GPU slapped it in and called it a day

You could get an i7 4770 and slap another at least 8gb of ram and call it a day, it would still play most games on high 1080p no problem,

But the 4 gig of ram and the 2c/4t cpu will definitely bottleneck it,

but smaller games that don't use too much CPU and older games that were built for dual core CPU's will be just fine
