I've got a question for super users out there, Is there any means of setting up 2 laptops so that everything transfers over, and I meam everything. Of course you would have to download the same programs and such, but other than that. I want the documents shared over, desktop arrangement, desktop background, power profiles, settings, application data. Essemtially the idea is you could grab one laptop or the other in the morning and the only difference would be the hardware in the laptop (grab the one with dedicated graphics for rendering or grab the LG Gram for light document work all dag). Any ideas?

Sure, but you'll need a server to do this with

You have 3 methods:

  1. Have a Domain environment with an account that can connect to your Windows Server server.
  2. Use Windows 10 on both system with a Microsoft linked account, and use OneDrive to sync your folders between systems. Windows 10 will sync your many of your personalization settings, and OneDrive will take care of your files. Note that OneDrive free has a limit of 5GB. If you have Office 365 subscription, then you have 1TB available to you.
  3. Use Windows 10 on both system with a Microsoft linked account, and try and find or build a software that network transfer your stuff between systems.
  4. Bonus 4: Use Offline network folder/drive. They won't be in sync if you are out of the network, and not exactly what you want, but you'll have a central point in sync
