So my pc doesn't start anymore. Not even a fan is turning. And all of the sudden a blue led on the lower halve of my msi Z170M mortar was on. I have u5 6600k in it which is not over clocked. I have tried to see if all connections of cables are in enough. I have not made any changes to the system in the last months. No idea what to do I need your help

Is the blue light steady or blinking?

Also, I would try and reset the CMOS. If you don't know how to do this consult your manual

It is steady and not part of the ez debug leds. I have already reset it the led goes dark for up to 5 sec and turns back on again. In the time while it is off I can turn the pc on but when the light lights up the fans stop spinning and the pc is off again

Sounds like a faulty PSU to me but try running with a RAM stick removed and then try the other one and so on.

Remove the GPU if you have an onboard one and see if the PC goes any further.

From my perspective, if a mobo or a CPU is dying it gives some sort of symptoms before dying, like bsods, glitches or other weird things, at least that is my experience. A faulty PSU would start to shut off randomly or just die off suddenly. Before buying anything, try to borrow one and try running Your PC with it. If it seems too weak for Your GPU, try running it using the onboard just to see if the rest of the PC still works.

Then again, it might be something else entirely like the mobo or even the CPU but the PSU seems like a good starting point.

I have tried with one ram stick and with inboard graphics, nothing changes. Sure it could be the PSU? I mean it has started but turned off almost instantly but I will try to borrow my friends psu

Yup, the details provided do sound like a PSU but then again - it also could be a mobo or cpu related issue but I think borrowing a compatible PSU just for checking should be easier than finding a compatible CPU or mobo. If You're going to a friends house, You might bring Your GPU along to see if it works in his or hers PC while at it, should their PSU handle it.

I have an 6600k and he has a 6500 so I could even change that out but it will be much work... My hope was that it would be a small and easy thing to fix oh well

Update

I have tried the other psu but nothing has changed It has to be the cpu or Mainboard. I brought it to the next pc software development shop they will do a hardware check and let me know what's wrong
