air 2016 vs pro mid 2014

I found an almost new MacBook air 2016 with: Cpu 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost up to 2.7GHz) RAM 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 memory Gpu Intel HD Graphics 6000 SSD 128 GB 50 battery cycle

and a MacBook pro retina mid 2014 with: Cpu 2.6 Intel Core i5 Ram 8GB 1600 mhz DDR3 Gpu Intel Intel Iris 1536mb SSD 128GB 125 battery cycle

for the same price, what do you guys think, which one would be the better (for uni-documents, web browsing, every day tasks)?

The MBP is better. The display alone makes it worth it. MBA displays are garbage.

The Air used to be garbage, the new one is nice but the old is garbage, its screen, its performance, its battery life (compared to the pro)

BTW 128GB maybe won't be enough, my parents both have MB Air, one with 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD, the other with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD; the 128GB one is full. If you just plan on editing files and watch Netflix, well you have better and cheaper options, but if you plan on download some stuff or use it on the go, it won't be that good..

So the MacBook pro would be better?

They are pretty much the same really. Go for the Pro if its the same price.

Its a 13inch model
