ram AliExpress & Ebay "AMD only DDR3 RAM"

I've been looking around for some DDR3 for a build I'm working on. Though while looking, I stumbled across several sellers advertising so called "AMD only" memory. In most cases, their "Intel" memory costs 50% more for what to me seems like the same.

I've heard of older Intel systems not supporting as many memory chips on the modules as AMD, though I didn't think this was the case for DDR3 as well?

If anyone has any experience with "AMD only" memory or have extended knowledge about memory compatibility across platforms, please do let me know. I've been curious about this for a while now.

Almost certainly a total lie to get more money from people that don't know better, DDR3 is DDR3 is DDR3. Although I wouldn't put too much trust in Aliexpress memory to begin with.

It's probably unbuffered ECC DDR3 which works fine on AM3 and AM3+ while it can't work with most Intel CPU-s due to their lack of ECC support or the lack of ECC support on the boards.

It's not ECC, but it is high density ram meant for some AM3 boards. Don't buy it, I have and it was useless.
