Test and benchmark

Go to solution Solved by Imbellis,

Test what aspects of the CPU / GPU?

CPU: Heat - prime 95         Performance: Cinebench, Passmark

GPU: Heat - FurMark          Performance: Heaven, Cinebench, Uniengine, Passmark

Those are just the ones that come to mind.

will it be a good idea testing CPU with normal struck cooler?

I assume you mean stock, and also it depends on the CPU. Intel stock is crap so replace it, but AMD stock coolers work when it comes to cooling.

As for relevant tests, it depends on what kind of performance you're testing. Is it for gaming? Workstation tasks like rendering? You tell us.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

its more for gaming, and its AMD CPU stock cooler.

Run Aida64 stability test and check the GPU box.  Then also with Aida you can go to benchmarks open plus box and a plethora of benchmarks comparing your system with others.

Hey my friend, sorry if Im harsh but Prime95 is just IMO silly to run.  You risk damaging your CPU.  It is a synthetic test which means it does things to the CPU that apps or games won't do also it is 10 to 12c higher CPU temp compared to Aida64.

I've never seen a confirmed case of that in the thousands of people who have used it. From what I understand, as long as he's not running a Haswell CPU, he would be fine.

If you can find any confirmed case, I'm totally willing to listen.

I do agree that it's unrealistic in temps; however, almost all synthetics are.

@Imbellis I have bayed a CPU water cooler now. I have two programs Speccy and AI suite 3 Speccy says 77 degrees and AI suite 3 says 22-29 degrees. witch program should I trust. ?

What sized cooler do you have?

I'd honestly trust the 77C better (If you're bench-marking or stressing the CPU at all).
