Won’t do well for steaming or editing.

Will do ok for 60fps gaming if that’s your thing. Isn’t that competitive though.

I was refering to gaming alone, which will still be fine. It isnt competitive but still isnt obsolete, hopefully hahah.

thank you so much for all the responses, My next question is currently i'm running the 4790k 4.6ghz paired with a gtx 1080 strix. Most games run as expected on ultra settings however I will be averaging 60-80fps (more specifically assassins creed odyssey) then hit 20fps randomly (not very often) but still annoying. I run most my games on an ssd and both gpu and cpu show 100% is the dip a factor my cpu/gpu maxing out? or could it possibly be my 1600mhz ddr3 ram? Ive never thought ram to be that important, not so long ago 1600mhz compared to other speeds had no real gaming significance. This is my Userbenchmark result UserBenchmarks: Game 123%, Desk 139%, Work 98%
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K - 102.6%
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 - 135.5%
SSD: Samsung 970 Evo NVMe PCIe M.2 250GB - 261.1%
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB - 124%
HDD: Toshiba P300 1TB - 95.1%
RAM: G.SKILL RipjawsX DDR3 1600 C10 2x8GB - 61.9%  latency 58.5ns read/write 20.9gb/s
MBD: Asus Z97-E/USB 3.1

Have the same system, ram scored 69% at 1866. Then 86% at 2400. Wouldn't worry about the ram. Isnt gonna be holding you back as much as the cpu could in certain games.
