Old Linux Boot Stuck On SSD

Go to solution Solved by MatheusSanzo,

Can you explain more please, cmd didn't recognise them.

I'm sorry, those were windows xp time, try bootrec.exe /fixboot and bootrec.exe /fixmbr

The other day I installed linux onto my second hard drive, but it installed the gub loader onto my ssd, Now I get long boot times even though my OS is on my SSD.

If I set my SSD as my main boot the grub loader tries to load and doesn't work. "The device doesn't exist."

When I reinstalled windows onto my pc I did clear all partitions so I was wondering if there was anyway to fix it without reinstalling windows.

Specs in signature.

Boot time is 18.1 seconds compared to 4 seconds.

~~Fresh windows install did not work, grub loader still remains if i try to boot off my ssd

~~Booting off my hard drive apparently loads windows even though it is on my ssd

Fresh windows install did nothing

Try run the commands fixboot and fixmbr on windows.

Ok

What Linux are you trying to boot off the SSD ?

Also one additional thing do you have to use that much hard disk to have it on a separate HDD ?

I'm sorry, I'm confused I just formatted it for the full volume and that 350mb file appeared

The best solution I can see for this is remove GRUB and restore the windows bootloader.

How exactly would I go about doing this?

" 'bootrec.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable or batch file."

:/

I don't have windows on my machines to test it, but it's probably on the windows folder, try search for the file and then run the command.

Signatures are stupid.

Used windows 8.1 repair installation, command said it worked but nothing has changed.
