Hotspot Error after using 1.1.1.1

After watching Linus's video on how 1.1.1.1 could potentially speed up your internet I decided to give it a try. It worked very well, but there was one problem. My hotspot will no longer turn on if I do not have 1.1.1.1 activated. It just says, "checking subscription status" or a long time and then says "unable to connect - data connection unavailable" Again it works fine when 1.1.1.1 is on. I have already restarted my phone, taken the Sim card and put it back in and reset all of my network data, but none of this has helped. If anyone has any advice I would love to hear it.

Any particular reason you want to disable 1.1.1.1 again?

It makes me lose battery a relatively high rate compared to when I don't have it on. If this weren't the case, I would leave it on all the time.

Ah I see, hadn't seen the video yet so didn't realise how it worked.

Not only does 1.1.1.1 not drain battery much at all on my Note 8. I had a totally different error. I had perfect connectivity, but could not download or send pictures through discord. Everything else was perfect... I uninstalled the app, and will mess with it once I finally get Android Pi.

1.1.1.1 is often used for hot spot solutions. However that hopefully shouldn't be a problem on a modern phone from Samsung.
