Headset Mic Help!

Hello

SO ive been using Hyper Xs for while, And they worked fine, but I now want to talk to one of my frineds so I plugged in the mic And all i hear is static... If I open discord all it shows it staitc bars and if I talk into it nothing comes up, If i do a hearing test I can hear the dings windows plays, But I cant talk into the mic... Ive tried to open sound/recording making it default nothings working... I also just re installed windows posible I dont have some kind of driver?

So I installed the Audio Drivers, The static is gone, but still cant hear myself. or make any sounds

There should be no issue with the mic unless it's failed.

If the mic failed you won't make any noise. Unless you accidentally muted yourself or have the audio recording device set wrong.

Right click the volume icon and open sound settings, under input make sure it's set for your mic and you will be able to see if it's picking up any noise there.

Its not picking up any noise, No green bars.

Are you using the dongle that came with the headset?

On the Cloud II dongle there is a  volume up and down for the mic try turning that all the way up. If that doesn't work then that USB "sound card" dongle is probably bad.

Its just the one with the 2 3.5mm jacks
