MSI B450 EZDEBUG VGA Error

Right, to cut a long story short, I built my first PC in early November. I tried my GPU and EZDEBUG had a VGA led on. So I bought a GTX 750ti to use while I save up for a new GPU. I try it and the same thing happens, I tried it in the second pcie slot and it worked. I used it until the end of December when I decided to RMA the board as the top spot seemed to be dead. After a lot of hassle, the new board has arrived and I have rebuilt the computer. Unfortunately, the first time I tried to boot, the same VGA led appeared on the EXDEBUG.

Specs are as follows:

Ryzen 5 2600

MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard

Corsiar Vengeance 16gb DDR4 3000Mhz

Crucial 250gb SSD

Corsair TX650M

Nvidia GTX 750ti

Thanks for any help

Fingers crossed they haven't sent me another dud board

For some reason, MSI B450 boards take a lot of time to boot (not sure if it gets stuck on VGA though, I didn't verify mine); so try just waiting for it

Try updating the BIOS.

Since your board has BIOS Flashback+ this is all you have to do:

  • Download the latest BIOS file
  • Place only the E7C02AMS.140 file on a USB
  • Plug the USB into this USB slot in the back:

  • Then turn off the PC (but make sure the switch on the PSU is ON)
  • Push the little button right above the USB port until it starts flashing red
  • Wait until the LED completely stops flashing then you are all done.

If this doesn't help then, it's either a bad motherboard or perhaps a faulty CPU.

I have a MSI B450 motherboard.

The USB Flashback port is already labeled as such

UPDATE: As with the first board, the card is working in the second pcie slot but not the first. Have I just been really unlucky?

Assuming you got a completely new board then, I'd take the CPU out and inspect it from every angle for any bent pins.
