Mobo won't post

Go to solution Solved by TheMiddleDe,

Okay so it was posting... it just wasn't posting to my monitor because it was using to display port. i switched to an hdmi monitor and got it to post..... this was really anoying and it took me about 6 hours of tinkering to figure this out.

okay I opened my system to change my boot drive to the 960 pro and when i put the whole thing back together i'm not posting and i'm getting a q-code b6 which is Clean-up of nvram

I tried looking around to figure out what this was and the only clues i found was a forum where someone said it had something to do with the cmos so i cleared the cmos with the button on the back of my mobo. that didn't help so i pulled out and replaced the mobo battery. that didn't work so i pulled the batter and left it out for about 10 minutes to clear cmos normally.... that didn't work. so any ideas

And the drive is fully in the slot? Try reseating it, I got the screw in on my Asus board while the drive was not in.

I reseated it and nothing happened, same error.

also I'm not posting at all so even if the drive isn't detected i should be posting and should be able to get into the UEFI

so on that logic the next thing i did was just remove the SSD now all that i have connected is the CPU and one stick of ram and i'm still getting the same error b6
