Sorry I didnt see a tech support section so thought I would try here. Recently keep having a issue with my pc randomly freezing. It will loose display connection but everything appears to be running inside the system. Also it will now turn off with the power button and I have to turn off the power supply. Bios and windows are up to date. Any ideas what is going on?

By randomly do you mean that it happens on idle as well as under load? Symptoms would point to GPU issue. Either lack of power, overheating or driver issues, to start. Or whole card might be bricked.

Surprisingly it hasn't happened under load yet. Mostly happens when it is just watching YouTube videos. And the video card is only about a year old along with the rest of the stuff. The case is a fractal r6 with a half dozen fans. It usually runs for a few hours without a problem then all of a sudden it happens.

Age of component doesn't mean anything when troubleshooting stuff. Sure older stuff is more sensitive for issues, you can have this kind of things out of the box too.

That in mind, I would start by reinstalling latest drivers and checking all power connectors inside the case. If things continue, and you have spare card, switch that in. Or use it just with integrated graphics for day or two. If issues continue without GPU, then its something else.
