Good Deal or explosion

Hey guys I found this Apevia 500w power supply do you think its a good deal or will it light my house on fire this is for my parents PC it only 3-4 years old with a i5 it's old PSU was only 400 so for 20$ will it be okay.

I wouldn't trust a PSU that didn't at least have an 80+ cert, if not 80+ bronze.

Make sure they are far enough away, say 20 feet.

Rather the latter than the former.


With PSU the price for the same components are the same. 
Everyone has acess to the same components.

 

Conclusion: It is not possible for one manufacturer to make one unit cheaper without sacrificing quality of the components and with that the reliability or worse the safety of the unit.

So I'd avoid that unit and NOT use it.

That's a pretty bad recommendations, there are 80+ models from EVGA that I'd say are as reliable as this apevia unit.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

 

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

So instead of buying a crappy PSU from Apevia, you instead bought a crappy PSU from EVGA. Money not well spent. The CX450 for $20 after rebate would be a much better PSU, and for a lower price.
