General/Gaming Laptop advice

Afternoon Guys and Girls,

New to the forum so bear with me!

I'm looking get a laptop and am currently getting lost in mountains of reviews and spec sheets all with contradicting viewpoints so i though i would see if anyone on here could offer some words of wisdom.

First i'll start with what i'm looking for...

I've currently got a desktop with a GTX 1070 and FX 8350 which more than suits my needs, i'm a "casual" gamer so don't need anything too flash. I will be keeping this up and running however i'm spending a lot more time away with work and so i'm looking for an "all rounder" which i can take with me to play some games while also carrying out the day to day duties such as emails, word, excel blah blah blah.

I'm looking to buy something second hand as I cant justify the upwards of £1000 and currently i'm steering towards the Dell XPS 15 9560 i5-7300HQ with the GTX 1050. Does anyone have any experience with this laptop. as I have said i'm not looking for anything groundbreaking, just the ability to play games on medium settings around 60fps. i'm not tied to any manufacturer just as long as it ticks as many boxes as possible. I'm looking to spend up to £800, however obviously the lower the better!

Wish list:

15 inch display

Able to play games such as Overwatch and LOL well on medium settings

Ability to upgrade hard drive

Simple design

I'm also not looking for a specific gaming laptop, as much as I love the tricked out style of the RGB units, i'll be using this for work applications as well and so something a bit more subtle would be best!

If i've missed out any information (which i probably have) let me know, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

First of all, I must say that this is an imbalanced build

Any preference on weight and battery life? Mind low sRGB display?

Hey,

Thanks for coming back! I am aware, the card was a gift and I couldn't justifya new processor as it works fine as is. I'll probably look to overall later in the year.

No preference if I'm honest. I should always be near power and if not it will only be for an hour and weight isn't a problem either, it will be in a rucksack or hotel room so no issues there.

Thanks again

Andy
