need help ASAP,Strix 1070

Hi guys! Friend sells a Strix 1070 for 250 euros approx,but there is a problem.

 

In last few weeks he started experiencing issues while gaming,games just crash randomly,but all benchmarks,sony vegas,youtube and everything else works fine. Only thing he did is changed the thermal paste on it.

 

Could this be some GPU issue or something else? I dont mind if it is a GPU issue,if it could be fixed easily. I would really like to buy it.

Why change the thermal paste?  These things aren't really meant to be opened up and fucked with, especially by people who don't do this a lot.

 

He obviously messed something up while having it apart.  You sorta have to put it back together exactly like it was. I'd say take it apart and recheck all the paste and pads, as well as screws and contacts and wires, etc.

 

Oh and I wouldn't buy it, even if it seems to be fixed after all that.  Buy a used-never-been-apart card for the same price or cheaper.

Hmm, as i understood him, he did the paste after the problems started. I can confidently take it apart, change the pads and paste again if needed, do anything as long its not hardware issue.

He had a 2 year warranty, thats how it goes here,expired recently..

Allright, got some updates. He said that he tried some overclockind and card seemed to be a bit more stable.

Fuq it, didnt have the balls to go for it. Bought the brand new 1070 Ti instead

Yeah, i know, was trying to be a bit funny hahah. Bought the Armor MSI, hopefully it isnt the worst of all
