I am overclocking my 5820K and when I use Aida64 as a stress test it seems fine and stable howver, when I use anything else such as P95 and OCCT it crashes or errors almost immediately.

In fact, the difference between what is stable in Aida64 and either P95 or OCCT is substantial.
I can get 4500 on all cores and 4300 on the uncore in Aida64 but cant not get a stable 4300 with either P95 or OCCT.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

P95 is known to be more taxing on CPUs compared to Aida64.

Ya, I am aware of that and so generally use Aida64.  Often, when it's stable I may try P95 and a few tweaks to see if I can get it stable with P95 too but it never works.  But, I am having major stability problems with OCCT as well.  I'd try another stability test if you have a suggestion.

I run aida for temperture benchmarking (with FPU and CPU, ppl ask me why my temps are high), and P95 (generally overnight) for stability.

There is zero chance I could run P95 overnight at almost any kind of reasonable OC on this chip.  Most people can hit 4400-4500 on the 5820K and I bet I couldn't run P95 for an hour at 4200.

Why is there such a huge difference in stability between stress tests?
In videos and tutorials I see so many people using Aida64 and calling it a pass but why?  Does it actually matter if my CPU isn't stable with some stress tests?   If it passes for a long period of time with Aida64 is that good enough?
