Hi guys.

My m.2 drive with heatsink on my Asus Z390I itx motherboard may be threaded. There's two screws that I couldn't untighten at all with any of my screwdrivers. I find it completely insane that Asus would do this without providing an adequate screwdriver.

Anyone know how to force these open? Or what screwdriver is ideal for them? I tried using the other m.2 slot but I think it's overheating my nvme drive (70 degree plus). I got kernel power problems which could be due to this? Also got this uncorrectable hardware error and had to completely reset my pc.

Any help much appreciated

Just a small screwdriver usually, although in a pinch you can use a philips head screw driver with a small enough tip... then if they seem tight you can hold onto the thumbscrew part of the m.2 head and loosen it. I recently had to find my old m.2 screws as the m.2 drive I got didn't have one... I find that insane personally, selling a £40+ drive with no screws that would be pennies to provide. Luckily my last drive I bought had screws with it, plus my motherboard, so glad I kept those safe.
