Should I Upgrade?

I am planning to upgrade my gpu within the next month or so. I currently have:

 

MSI GTX 1060 GAMING gpu. 

Intel i7-6700K
EVGA 650W G2 psu

MSI Z170 Gaming M3 mobo

Samsung 24" & 27" monitors

 

I plan to play Anthem and Division 2 when they release, and currently play Destiny 2. Am I better off overclocking my existing setup or should I follow through with the gpu upgrade to a 1080 Ti or even the RTX 20- series gpu's?

I'd rather wait till their release and benchmarks to not overbuy hardware, but if you can't wait the RTX 2060 should be good for 1080p 60fps high settings

I might sound like a n00b for asking this; the 2060 can do 1440p 144Hz ?

Check it here, many games are tested with RTX 2060 at 1440p in this benchmark review.
