BIOS not recognising M.2

Hi. I have a 1TB Crucial MX500 M.2 SATA 2280SS connected to my MSI X470 GAMING M7 AC motherboard. It is put in the M.2_1 slot. However, it does not detect the M.2. 

 

Does anybody know what to do to troubleshoot this?

Longshot here, do you have boot mode/sata mode/whathaveyou in AHCI mode? I think it needs to be in that to see cards like those.

Not familiar with the specific mobo, but are the pcie lanes shared perhaps? Maybe move it to the other slot (if such a thing exists)

oh shit im stupid

 

m.2_1 only supports pice mode. ive moved it to the 2nd slot and its now recognised.
