R 290 preforming badly.

Hi there, not sure if this is the correct placer to post this but, i'll do i t anyway. 

 

I am experiencing some horrible fps problems in several games. (Bf4, ac4 batman ao) In bf4 i get around (29 the lowest i have gotten) 32- 55 fps on ultra settings. And i only get 14-30 fps on ultra in ac4. 

Yes i have the latest drivers and i just reinstalled widows to a new ssd, over the weekend. Everything is up to date and i have updated the bios to the newest, i made sure to install both origin and bf4 in program files and not programfiles (x86) I have unparked all of my cores in my cpu, i have over clocked it as well. Temps are fine (r9 290 run under 80c) on both cpu and gpu.

 

PC specs. 

Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit (installed this Saturday)

cpu: intel i5 2500k 4.6 oc

mobo: asus p8z68-v pro/gen3
ram: 16 gb 1600mhz corsair vengeance

Psu: xfx pro series 850w

storage: main: kingston v300 120gb ssd, HHD: WD black 1tb 7200rpm

cooling: noctua nh-u14s (cpu) reference cooler on gpu

gpu: gigabyte r9 290 4gb (memory is hynix) i can flash it to a 290x if i would like to. Already checked it.

and strange.. uhh, try running 3D Mark demo on your card and tell us the score.. or stress test your CPU..

Also what's your cpu usage on these games?

I have around 80% cpu usage but i have google chrome, spotify and other programs running in the background. No core is running at 100% alone either.

I'm downloading 3d mark atm and will write the score here. Why not, i saw  video on it the other day and i downloaded the program to check if i could and 

i had the correct numbers. But maybe they have updated the drivers then..

furmark is also running horribly. I only get 17 fps running 1080 8x msaa, but when i had my old gtx 770 i got over 60 fps

did you try Valley Benchmark?

Use Display Driver Uninstaller to uninstall your drivers in Safe Mode, CCleaner to remove any remaining traces, reinstall drivers & see if it changes anything

Yes i did. I put the preset to Extreme HD and i got horrible results. Score=539 avg fps=12.9 min fps=8 max fps= 24.4 

Use Display Driver Uninstaller to uninstall your drivers in Safe Mode, CCleaner to remove any remaining traces, re installed drivers & see if it changes anything

Re installed my drives again. Nothing new, same results.

maybe the card is faulty i guess?

There is a slight chance the card is faulty. The best way would be to test it on another system so you won't RMA it for nothing

I spoke to my friend today and he said that i could test my card in his system. Will probably do that next week or during the weekend.

My card manages to do 3321 Score in firestrike... the R9 290 performs outmost best.. wow.

How come you lag? It MUST be your video card's drivers.. MUST BE! Or hard drive.. dunno... maybe it is really a faulty card... it's really really strange lol

I fu**ing fixed it! Needed to go into safe mode and use DDU (display driver uninstaller) and install the latest drivers! I did that with drive sweeper but it didn't work apparently... But any way, Have now 65-90 fps bf4 and scored 2343 in valley benchmark with 56 in avg fps! Sp glad that i don't need to do a refund!! So happy right now!

nice! tbh i also havbe issues mainly wiht CSGO i have only around 100-180 fps and i should have more(all lowest graphical settings mind you) but i think it has to do with my CPU that might not be good w the game.
