so i've had an issue with my pc that i haven't been able to solve for about 1 year now, my pc would randomly crash while playing games, normal workloads it'd be fine in same with benchmarks.

That lead me to replace almost every part in my pc. then one day i decided for an aesthetic upgrade to add some new fans, my old ones weren't bad or anything they were just a bit plane.

since i did that the crashing issue has completely gone.

some of you may think it was a temp issue though my fans were functioning and temps never went above 60c

temps haven't really changed much (adjusting for the colder weather)

i'm not really looking for an answer, though if you have one that'd be great I'm just curious as to how a fan or fans could completely lock my pc (while playing a game it would freese on the last frame it output to my monitor and same with the sound, having to hard reset my pc by holding the power button as no other input would work)

maybe your fan was shorting pwm header, that could cause the pc to turn off.

i mean sure that would cause it to turn off sure though it was just hanging in a sense id have to force it off, if a short happens the pc will turn off to protect itself not hang atleast in theory.

though it doesn't explain that i can leave the pc on overnight running a stress test and have no issues
